As Christmas approaches the seasonal of goodwill is lost on the people of Gaza.
 
Wholesale slaughter of Palestinian civilians continues while our government, along with western governments, makes pathetic noises of disapproval but refuses to utter a word of criticism of Israel.
 
We are complicit in the genocide.
 
Condemnation by our government is reserved for Palestinian resistance groups, never for Israel with its 75-year occupation and genocidal rampage in Gaza.
 
Our government has voted in favour of a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire and it has issued a statement alongside Australia and Canada also calling for a ceasefire.
 
But it’s all “look busy – the people are watching” rather than effective political pressure to end the genocide and establish a ceasefire.
